United Arab Emirates – Abu Dhabi, October 16, 2012- The team who worked on the first ever Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for Arab Youth which was presented during the 32nd International Arab Youth Congress held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein this summer were honored in Abu Dhabi.
Ms. Lina Attel, Director of the National Center for Culture and Arts (NCCA) which organized the Youth Congress in Jordan attended the ceremony along with Dr. Hajar Al Hosani, a member of the board of Trustees of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), H.E. Ms. Maryam Al-Rumaithi Director-General of the FDF, and Dr. Al-Hadi Al-Tijani, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi International Center for Organizational Excellence and member of the Supreme Committee of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for Arab Youth.
His Excellency Mr. Salem Al-Kaabi, Chairman of the Board of Trustee of the FDF, and Vice-President of the Supreme Committee for H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for Arab Youth honored the team that worked on the award.
The inaugural Arab youth award was launched at this year’s International Youth Congress in order to recognize the role of young people in building the future of the Arab world, and to enhance their dynamic role on an international level.
The award also aims to enhance the sense of pride, belonging, and loyalty to young members of the Arab world by honoring and recognizing their competencies and creativity at the international level.
The first prize winner received $20,000 dollars.
The NCCA’s Lina Attel remarked, “We were proud to announce and honor the winners of the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for Arab Youth winners at the 32nd Arab Youth International Congress that was held in Jordan under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein, and on the occasion of celebrating the Silver Jubilee of the National Center for Culture and Arts and the celebration of the Bicentennial Anniversary of the re-discovery of Petra.”
In 2011 the Arab youth congress was hosted outside of Jordan for the first time by the Family Development Foundation in Abu Dhabi. The creation of the new award was officially unveiled during last year’s Congress.
