National Music Conservatory Launches Inclusive Arts and Music Therapy Programme

June 23 2026

The pioneering Inclusive Arts and Music Therapy Programme, led by the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, was launched in Amman, marking a significant step in advancing music therapy as an evidence-based rehabilitation practice in Jordan.

The music therapy program introduces structured interventions that draw on rhythm, sound, movement, and musical interaction to support persons with disabilities across key developmental and functional domains, including communication, emotional expression, sensory regulation, motor development, and social participation.

By positioning music therapy as a credible rehabilitation modality, grounded in clinical research and delivered through professional practice, the program expands the role of the National Music Conservatory beyond performance and education, establishing music as a pathway for rehabilitation, empowerment, and equal opportunity.

With national partners, the initiative contributes to building a more inclusive model that recognizes the arts not only as a form of expression but as a tool for dignity, access, and social inclusion.
